Saša Petrović Berdujac - Sculptures

Museum of Naïve and Marginal Art

On Saturday 19 May 2018, the exhibition Saša Petrović Berdujac – Sculptures, whose author is Ivana Jovanović, higher custodian, opened at Museum of Naïve and Marginal Art as a part of national museum event Museum for 10 and European Night of Museums.

The exhibition of sculptures from the MNMA and private collections was accompanied by traditional open atelier entitled Encounter with the Artist together with Art Workshop for children of pre-school and school age.

Saša Petrović Berdujac began doing sculpture in 1998. He found his primary inspiration in the respect for natural shapes of a trunk, processing it roughly at first, until achieving refined modelling in the end. His most frequent motifs had zoomorphic character, although he often did figures of angels.
He began exhibiting very early; his sculptures soon entered the permanent display at MNMA. He participated in group exhibitions in the country and abroad, and numerous international events organised by MNMA such as Biennials, Colonies and Triennial off Self-taught Visionaries. Many of his sculptures were exhibited on annual exhibitions organised by Association of Serbian Artists, Belgrade Biennial of Drawings and Small Plastic (2007), Spring Exhibition (2009) and Art Colonies Zaječar-Berkovica i Zabrega.

The exhibition is open until 19 June 2018.
