Voyage to the future
through oceans of the past
Galerija Centra za kulturu "Sveti Stefan Despot srpski",
20-28 August 2019
At this year’s twenty-seventh Days of Serbian Spiritual
Transformation in Despotovac, Museum of Naïve and Marginal Art, in
cooperation with the organisers of the event, arranged the
exhibition of paintings of Srboljub Kojadinović entitled Voyage to
the future through oceans of the past on Tuesday, 20 August 2019.
Thirteen realisations of this self-taught artist, civil engineer,
sailor and writer were selected for this occasion. Srboljub
Kojadinović did these artworks in the period 2004-2018 in acrylic or
combined technique. The exhibited paintings were taken from MNMA
collection and private property of the family Kojadinović. At the
opening ceremony, the visitors had the opportunity to see a short
film “Journey around the World” which the author made in cooperation
with Radio Television Montenegro in 2007. The film speaks of
thirty-year-long sailing experience of Kojadinović, which
undoubtedly influenced the artist’s oeuvre and expression.
The author of exhibition and text in accompanying catalogue
published by MNMA is Jelena Jovanović, art historian. The author of
design is Slobodan Štetić. The exhibition closed on 28 August 2019.
