As part of the event Museums for 10, the first workshop on Non-Traditional Embroidery was held. Embroidery is a type of handicraft. On the fabric, the embroiderer uses a needle and thread to stitch a specific motif based on a pre-prepared design, and this type of embroidery is called a tapestry. Embroidery refers to the method of decorating textile or leather surfaces. The motifs created in this way represented a very important decoration on clothing and textile furnishings in the traditional art of Serbia. Inspired by the exhibition UNpractical Women – Contemporary Cooks, we organized a workshop on non-traditional embroidery. The participants chose the motifs they wanted and, with the help of embroidery and drawing techniques, decorated the fabrics with freely chosen designs. Some of the participants also incorporated the message of the event Museums for 10: Museums, Sustainability, and Well-Being.
