У петак 15. новембра у 18 часова у Салону Ото Бихаљи-Марин одржана је промоција каталога у оквиру изложбе „Аутоматски цртеж – поводом стогодишњице надреализма “ Селмана Тртовца и Горана Стојчетовића.
In addition to the artists, the speakers at the event included:
Ivana Bašičević Antić, Phd the exhibition curator and director of the Museum of Naïve and Marginal Art (MNMA), and Una Popović, senior curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade.
Since the emergence of Surrealism, automatic drawing has been associated with the idea of accessing the unconscious. Trtovac entirely abandons traditional drawing techniques by moving into the realm of drawing transferred into the domain of the artist’s body or spirit, aiming to follow the input of that body or spirit exclusively—rendering the process nearly automatic. Goran Stojčetović approaches drawing from a completely different perspective. The dissatisfaction he experienced while “learning” art at the academy marked the beginning of his departure from the academically defined role of the artist. At the same time, his life circumstances—most notably the direct encounter with the destruction of society and the state on the territory of Kosovo, where the artist was born and lived—along with his firsthand insight into the rising tensions among people, left a mark that turned into a simultaneous quest for meaning and inner peace.
