At the Gallery of the Museum of Naïve and Marginal Art in Jagodina, a TEA workshop (therapy through art methods) was successfully held — a program that connects art, mental health, and personal development. The workshop was organized as part of the celebration of International Museum Day, which this year takes place under the theme The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities..

The program was led by assistant Jovana Đorđević, a PhD student at the Faculty of Teacher Education, University of Belgrade, who, through art therapy methods, offered participants a safe space for creative expression, emotional release, and self-awareness.

The aim of the workshop was to demonstrate how art can be a powerful tool for recognizing and understanding one’s own emotions, relieving stress and inner tension, and enhancing mental well-being. Participants had the opportunity to develop personal insights and experience a sense of support within a shared environment through the creative process.

Today, museums play an increasingly important role in preserving and strengthening the social fabric. Through programs such as the TEA workshop, they become not only guardians of cultural heritage but also active participants in building resilient, connected, and creative communities.

We thank all the participants of the workshop for their engagement, inspiration, and trust.
