Goran Stojčetović's depth art was presented in Skopje with the exhibition "Sublimations"

A solo exhibition of paintings titled "Sublimations" by Serbian artist Goran Stojčetović opened on June 7 at the Ethnological Gallery of the Museum of Macedonia. The exhibition and workshop with the author are organized by "Partizanska Štampa" and supported by the EU Delegation.

– The paintings from the "Sublimations" series are created as a reflection of my deep need for a monumental expressive expression of repressed feelings of anxiety and aggressiveness under numerous influences and a clear image of the dehumanization of local and global reality.

Thus, the large format emerged as a force of reaction, not as an expression of some artistic self-confidence or a sense of my own power. These paintings also require my physical involvement and bodily readiness. This means that I am completely engaged in the work both mentally and physically, and therefore, my conscious insight into the results is reduced. Consequently, I did not feel the need to come up with an original title for the entire series or the exhibition itself, so I opted for a scientific term that generally describes what is, for me, both the result and the source—a manifestation of the active metamorphoses of my aggressive forms of various instincts.

I started the series in 2022. I paint with acrylic and dispersion paints on canvas, oilcloth, paper, cardboard and walls. I most often get zoomorphic creatures in different relationships and symbolism – explains the author Goran Stojčetović.
