MNMU RAW INTUITIVE
30.9. - 3.11.2022. Gallery of MNMA, Jagodina
The international exhibition "Triennale MNMU RAW INTUITIVE," which opened on September 30, 2022, at 7 PM in the Gallery of the Museum of Naive and Marginal Art in Jagodina (Boška Đuričića 10), features 129 works by 53 artists from 16 countries (Bulgaria, Denmark, India, Iran, Japan, Cuba, Germany, Rwanda, Russia, USA, Slovenia, Serbia, Uganda, United Kingdom, France, Chile).
The international exhibition "Triennale MNMU" has been organized since 2016, following the Salon (1970-1980) and the Biennale (1981-2013), which the MNMU has continuously organized since 1970. This year, the Triennale is titled "Raw Intuitive," which connects indigenous creative expressions, ranging from subtler, more fluid outlines of the intuitive to the much more clearly defined immediacy of the potential of raw artistic expression.
.
The public will be able to visit the exhibition until November 13, 2022.
From a total of 396 works by 97 authors from 18 countries submitted to the Third Triennale MNMA RAW INTUITIVE, the jury selected a total of 129 works by 53 artists from 16 countries (Bulgaria, Denmark, India, Iran, Japan, Cuba, Germany, Rwanda, Russia, USA, Slovenia, Serbia, Uganda, United Kingdom, France, Chile). Alongside a significant number of notable artistic achievements from authors who have already established themselves in exhibitions organized by the Museum of Naive and Marginal Art, a considerable group of domestic and foreign authors who are applying to the Triennale for the first time also stood out.
The jury consisted of: Thomas Roske, PhD, director of the Prinzhorn Collection Museum in Heidelberg and president of the European Outsider Art Association; Marina Giordano, vice president of the Outsider Art Observatory (Osservatorio Outsider Art) in Palermo; Biljana Tomić, art historian from Belgrade; Miroslav Karić, art historian from the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade; and Ivana Jovanović, art historian from the Museum of Naive and Marginal Art.
They awarded the following prizes:
The Grand Prize was awarded to the French artist Margot.
The Purchase Prize – Among the six Cuban authors whose works were selected for exhibition at the Third Triennale MNMU, the recipient of this year's Purchase Prize is Marcos Antonio Guera Herrera.
Special Recognition – In the group of authors whose works the jury particularly noted for their authentic visions, domestic artists Goran Stojčetović and Zil Milano, as well as Margaret Muso (USA) and Merdad Rashidi (Iran/Germany), stood out.
The exhibition was opened by Vukica Kilibarda, the first secretary at the Ministry of Culture and Information. Ivana Bašićević Antić, PhD, director of MNMU, and Thomas Roske, PhD, the jury president who also presented the awards, also spoke.
