This exhibition presents the artistic work of Zil Milan, with an emphasis on pieces created over the last ten years. The artist expresses himself equally through various artistic media. In painting, he has developed a distinctive style characterized by flat surfaces and strong colors. He focuses on minimal detail against clean, monochromatic backgrounds in vivid hues (blue, yellow, red, green). His figures playfully explore sexuality, dancing across cardboard, paper, or canvas, breathing life into the image.

Since 2003, Zil Milan has regularly participated in both national and international events and exhibitions organized by the Museum of Naïve and Marginal Art, including art colonies, biennials, and triennials. This marked a turning point in his creative path, as connections with artists of similar sensibilities drew him toward “raw” art. In 2015, he joined the Art Brut Serbia Association. Art brut has since become his artistic and personal calling.

Zil Milan’s art is created in a spirit of indifference to the establishment, free from constraints or expectations. Instinctive and independent, he lives and creates in a natural environment, producing authentic works that share nothing with academic standards—only with passion and whim—art without precedent! Zil Milan (Života Milanović) was born on August 16, 1961, in Belica near Jagodina. He has been engaged in painting since 1981 and later became interested in other visual media. He has been officially exhibiting his work since 1999 and continues to live and work in Belica. He has held solo and group exhibitions in Serbia and participated in group exhibitions abroad, with notable appearances in the USA, France, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Montenegro, Slovenia, and Malta.
